Develop yourself as a performer, bellydancer, and frame drummer in this live performance project! Learn and perform April Rose’s signature Dance Cohesion system for bellydancing while playing the frame drum. You’ll learn to play frame drum in the upright style, several bellydance rhythms, and a way to link rhythms together improvisationally with others. We’ll add bellydance movements to our drumming, master some Dance Cohesion bellydance combinations, and put together an ensemble performance of bellydance with frame drum that highlights each dancer! 

If you are a bellydancer who feels the call of the frame drum (or a frame drummer who feels the desire to dance) and you want to practice and perform alongside April Rose with an ensemble of like-hearted dancer percussionists, then you are going to love this experience!

Finger cymbal like a musician by playing multi-tonal techniques, Middle Eastern rhythms, and unique fills. This advanced cymbal class will help you learn to respond to music with complimentary rhythms and know when to fill in or hold the auditory space so that you feel confident in your cymbal musicianship.

 April Rose has been teaching and performing fusion bellydance for 27 years. Studied by thoughtful and creative dancers all over the world, her particular style and Dance Cohesion format is known for elegant technical precision, incorporation of frame drum and finger cymbals, cued group improvisation, and meaningful choreography that highlights the timeless beauty and modern versatility of bellydance. 

April has a master’s degree in Culture and Performance, and a bachelor’s in Dance from UCLA and has been invited to teach in over 25 countries. In addition to her annual intensive trainings and weekly classes in Austin, Texas, she is proud to offer the most comprehensive online teacher training and performance development program for aspiring and professional bellydancers where she shares all the best practices and behind the scenes skills needed to become a successful professional bellydancer.
